Padakhep began its journey in 1986 using its own resources in a small, remote village of the Barisal district. Guided by a Holistic Development Approach, the organization is dedicated to improving the socio-economic well-being of marginalized, disadvantaged, and vulnerable communities—especially women and children in both rural and urban areas. Over the years, Padakhep has expanded its work across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, microfinance, women’s empowerment, agriculture, and more. Despite numerous challenges in its early days, the organization has grown into a nationwide initiative, now operating through 250+ branches and offices, with a workforce of over 3,500 employees, positively impacting more than 50 million people.
