Job Context
A well-established export-oriented Ready-Made Garments (RMG) manufacturer is seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Manager to oversee and strengthen its Compliance Department. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring adherence to buyer requirements, national labor legislation, international compliance standards, and regulatory obligations while promoting a safe, ethical, and sustainable working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all compliance-related activities across the factory to ensure continuous adherence to organizational and buyer requirements.
Ensure full compliance with buyer Codes of Conduct, including Primark Ethical Trade Standards and other internationally recognized compliance frameworks.
Coordinate and manage RMG Sustainability Council (RSC) inspections, remediation initiatives, corrective actions, and related documentation.
Plan, prepare for, and facilitate successful social, technical, environmental, security, and buyer compliance audits.
Develop, implement, and regularly review compliance policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal control mechanisms.
Ensure organizational compliance with the Bangladesh Labour Act, Labour Rules, and all other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor workplace compliance related to occupational health and safety, fire protection, electrical safety, structural integrity, environmental standards, and employee welfare.
Conduct regular internal compliance assessments and recommend effective corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
Maintain strong communication with buyers, third-party auditors, certification bodies, and government regulatory authorities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, audit reports, certifications, and supporting documentation.
Design and conduct compliance awareness and training programs for employees, supervisors, and management personnel.
Collaborate closely with the HR, Administration, Production, Engineering, and EHS departments to drive continuous compliance improvements.
Prepare periodic compliance reports, monitor key compliance indicators, and present updates to senior management.
Ensure all audit observations are addressed promptly and that corrective action plans are implemented within agreed timelines.
Perform any additional compliance-related duties assigned by management to support organizational objectives.
