Responsibilities & Context

Implement and maintain a comprehensive Fire Safety Management System in accordance with Bangladesh Labor Law, BNBC, Fire Service & Civil Defense requirements, NFPA guidelines, ISO 45001, and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections of fire detection and protection systems, including extinguishers, hydrants, fire pumps, standpipe systems, smoke detectors, fire alarms, fire doors, hose reels, and other firefighting equipment.
Identify fire hazards and assess risks throughout the plant, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive measures are implemented.
Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for hot work and other high-risk activities.
Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans (ERP), statutory records, inspection reports, fire safety registers, occupancy records, and other required compliance documents.
Organize fire drills, evacuation exercises, firefighting demonstrations, and fire safety training programs for employees.
Lead initial emergency response activities and coordinate with Fire Service & Civil Defense, Security, and relevant departments during incidents.
Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identify root causes, prepare investigation reports, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain effective communication with Fire Service & Civil Defense, regulatory authorities, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding inspections, certifications, and statutory compliance.
Support the EHS team in safety audits, workplace inspections, risk assessments, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
Work closely with Security, HR, and other departments to incorporate effective fire prevention practices into daily operations.
Prepare regular fire safety reports, evaluate safety performance, recommend improvement measures, and perform other duties assigned by the reporting manager.
