Auto Air Conditioned Technician Trainer - Level 2

 

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive air-conditioning installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair.

• Prior experience as a trainer/instructor in a TVET or skills development institution will be an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of automotive air-conditioning systems, components, and diagnostic procedures.

• Proficiency in refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and troubleshooting.

• Good understanding of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) principles.

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety, environmental compliance, and relevant industry standards.

• Availability to work according to training schedules, batch requirements, and organizational needs.

Modern Skill Development Center is a skills training organization focused on developing industry-relevant technical competencies through structured, competency-based training programs. The organization provides vocational skills development aligned with the standards of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA).

 

The center is currently seeking qualified and experienced professionals to serve as Part-Time Auto Air Conditioned Technician Trainer – Level 2, supporting practical skills development and competency-based training in automotive air-conditioning technology.

Responsibilities & Context

• Deliver theoretical and practical training in accordance with NSDA Competency Standards and Curriculum.

• Prepare lesson plans, training materials, practical demonstrations, exercises, and assessment tools.

• Train participants on automotive air-conditioning systems, including components, refrigerant handling, compressor servicing, condenser/evaporator maintenance, electrical diagnostics, recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and troubleshooting.

• Demonstrate the safe and proper use of AC servicing equipment, diagnostic tools, and measuring instruments.

• Ensure compliance with OHS, environmental, and refrigerant-handling standards.

• Conduct formative and summative assessments following NSDA CBTA guidelines.

• Monitor trainee attendance, performance, and competency development and maintain accurate training records.

• Maintain assessment sheets, logbooks, attendance registers, and training reports.

• Ensure proper use, maintenance, calibration, and inventory management of workshop tools and equipment.

• Support quality assurance, monitoring, audits, and other NSDA compliance activities.

• Develop trainees’ workplace ethics, communication, teamwork, customer service, and employability skills.

• Coordinate with the Training Manager to ensure effective and timely delivery of training programs.
