Accounts Executive / Bookkeeper (Singapore Clients)
Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Executive / Bookkeeper to provide outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services for Singapore-based SME clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, financial data management, and accounting software operations.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager to maintain accurate financial records, prepare management accounts, perform accounting adjustments, and ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations
- Provide professional outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services for Singapore-based Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions using Autocount Accounting Software.
- Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper classification of accounts.
- Perform routine bookkeeping activities in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
Data Entry & Financial Record Management
- Process and input accounting data from:
- Invoices
- Bills
- Payment Vouchers
- Receipts
- Bank Statements
- Financial Documents
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the accounting system.
- Verify supporting documents before posting transactions.
- Maintain proper digital and physical documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Monthly Management Accounts Preparation
- Categorize financial transactions according to the Chart of Accounts.
- Maintain up-to-date accounting records for monthly financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial summaries.
- Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies when necessary.
Financial Year-End Closing & Adjustments
- Assist in year-end accounting activities and financial closing procedures.
- Prepare and process accounting adjustments, accruals, prepayments, depreciation entries, and journal adjustments.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and year-end reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records are complete and accurate for audit purposes.
IFRS Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Review accounting entries to ensure compliance with:
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Accounting Policies
- Internal Control Procedures
- Work closely with the Accounting Manager to validate accounting records and financial data accuracy.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information before final reporting.
Bank Reconciliation & Ledger Maintenance
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash transactions.
- Resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare accounting reports, schedules, and supporting documents as required.
- Maintain organized accounting files and document management systems.
- Generate reports for management review and decision-making.
- Ensure proper record retention and documentation compliance.
Team Collaboration & Support
- Support the Accounting Manager in day-to-day accounting operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of accounting assignments.
- Communicate effectively regarding financial data, reporting requirements, and operational issues.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
Deadline Management
- Ensure all assigned accounting tasks are completed accurately within stipulated deadlines.
- Manage multiple client accounts efficiently while maintaining data accuracy and quality standards.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any ad-hoc accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, or administrative tasks assigned by management.
- Support organizational objectives through efficient and professional financial operations.
