Prepare and implement the Branch business plan in line with the Bank’s strategic goals, focusing on sustainable growth in deposits, advances, fee income, and overall profitability. Lead business development and customer acquisition initiatives by maintaining existing relationships, attracting deposits, identifying new business opportunities, and meeting assigned asset and liability targets. Collaborate with centralized functions and relevant Head Office departments, including Credit Risk Management, Credit Administration, Corporate Business, Trade Finance, Operations, and other support teams, to ensure timely business execution and seamless customer service. Oversee daily branch operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery while maintaining operational standards and high levels of customer satisfaction. Lead and supervise the Branch team to achieve individual and collective targets, promote a performance-oriented culture, optimize resource utilization, and encourage employees’ professional growth. Maintain strong compliance, risk management, and internal control practices at the Branch by ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, AML/CFT guidelines, and the Bank’s policies and procedures, while identifying and mitigating potential operational and business risks.

Handle legal proceedings against defaulting clients, including drafting, filing, follow-up, and supporting recovery actions. Represent the Bank in civil and criminal cases before subordinate courts and the High Court Division. Coordinate with external legal counsel and Panel Lawyers and monitor ongoing cases. Draft and review contracts, deeds, agreements, bank guarantees, written statements, and legal notices. Liaise with courts, law chambers, and relevant government/non-government authorities on legal and regulatory matters. Provide legal opinions and guidance to branches and departments on compliance, regulatory, and contractual issues. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, including responding to Bangladesh Bank queries. Conduct legal research and risk assessments to identify and minimize potential legal exposure. Maintain accurate case records, court decisions, legal documents, and status reports for Management and regulators. Perform other legal duties assigned by the competent authority in the Bank’s interest.
