Job Context
The candidate will serve as a dynamic, results-driven General Manager – Technical (Sample & CAD) to oversee the Technical, Pattern, CAD, and Sample departments of our woven garment manufacturing unit. The selected leader will direct all technical dimensions of product development, pattern architecture, CAD management, fitting protocols, and pre-production planning. The primary focus will center on ensuring absolute compliance with global buyer guidelines, upholding rigorous quality standards, and implementing smart cost-reduction strategies.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and optimize the operations of Technical, Pattern, and CAD departments to guarantee seamless pre-production workflows and timely execution.
Review and analyze buyers' Tech Packs, construction details, and technical specifications to evaluate manufacturing feasibility before sample and bulk production.
Conduct comprehensive technical risk assessments and implement strategic preventive actions to minimize potential factory-floor issues.
Spearhead Pre-Production (PP) meetings, providing expert technical guidance and aligning cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Production, IE, and Quality.
Resolve complex technical bottlenecks related to garment construction, sewing methodologies, fit accuracy, and manufacturing processes.
Formulate, standardize, and implement departmental SOPs and best practices to drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
Supervise the end-to-end pattern development, precise grading, and marker planning processes for all woven styles based on buyer specifications.
Verify pattern measurements, garment balance, and construction parameters thoroughly prior to sending samples for final buyer approval.
Execute precise pattern corrections based on fitting session analysis and specific feedback received from global buyers.
Manage and secure a proper archiving system for all approved, production-ready patterns to ensure seamless future reference.
Oversee advanced CAD operations including digitizing, grading, nesting, and marker making to optimize fabric utilization and reduce raw material wastage.
Maintain strict data accuracy across all CAD software operations and coordinate directly with Planning and Cutting units for flawless marker execution.
Direct fit sessions, analyze comments, and oversee the punctual development of all sample stages from Proto, Fit, and Size Set to PP, TOP, and Shipment.
Deliver on-floor technical troubleshooting during pilot runs and bulk production, applying Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate defects.
Manage a smooth and error-free technical handover process from the development phase straight to the bulk production lines.
Mentor, train, and develop the Technical, Pattern, and CAD teams while evaluating performance KPIs to foster accountability and innovation.
Prepare departmental reports, KPI tracking dashboards, and strategic management presentations regarding technical performance.
Ensure full compliance with international quality requirements, brand-specific standards, and factory SOPs during technical audits and buyer visits.
