Sr. Executive- Merchandising

 

Job Context

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sr. Executive – Merchandising to manage footwear merchandising operations from product development and order placement through bulk production and final shipment. The role requires effective coordination with buyers, suppliers, production, planning, quality assurance, commercial, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Buyer Communication & Order Management: Communicate regularly with international buyers and independently manage orders from initial inquiry and development to final shipment.

• Product Development: Coordinate footwear design, material development, sample preparation, and submission according to buyer specifications and technical requirements.

• Costing & Negotiation: Prepare product costing sheets, calculate material consumption and production costs, negotiate with buyers and suppliers, and maintain profitability.

• Sample Development & Approval: Follow up on prototype, fit, size set, confirmation, and pre-production samples to secure timely buyer approval.

• Time and Action (T&A) Planning: Develop and monitor schedules for product development, sample approvals, material sourcing, production, inspection, and shipment.

• Material Sourcing: Coordinate procurement of footwear materials, accessories, trims, and packaging within approved budgets and timelines.

• Production Follow-up: Work with production, planning, IE, and other departments to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and meet delivery deadlines.

• Quality Assurance: Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure materials, samples, and finished products meet buyer specifications and quality standards.

• Order Tracking & Reporting: Maintain order trackers, development updates, approval records, costing sheets, and shipment schedules; provide regular updates to buyers and management.

• Shipment Coordination: Work with commercial, logistics, and shipping teams to arrange shipments, meet delivery schedules, and complete required documentation.

• Supplier Management: Build strong supplier relationships, monitor material deliveries, assess cost and quality, and explore alternative sourcing when needed.

• Issue Resolution: Identify potential delays, material shortages, costing errors, and quality concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.

• Buyer Meetings & Visits: Participate in buyer meetings, product presentations, factory visits, and online discussions to maintain clear communication and customer satisfaction.

• Market Research: Track footwear trends, new materials, product innovations, and market prices to support product development and business growth.

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate merchandising records and coordinate with relevant departments to meet buyer, quality, and compliance requirements.

• Team Coordination: Support junior merchandisers, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and handle other merchandising duties assigned by management.
