Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer to join a client’s product team in a hybrid work arrangement based in Bangladesh. The role involves testing web applications and REST APIs, identifying defects before release, and ensuring product quality through manual and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Review requirements and user stories, identify gaps, and clarify acceptance criteria before development begins.

✔ Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data.

✔ Perform functional, exploratory, cross-browser, and responsive testing of web applications.

✔ Develop, execute, and maintain automated UI tests using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.

✔ Test REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools, covering positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios.

✔ Document defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and severity levels, then verify fixes.

✔ Conduct smoke and regression testing before each release to ensure product stability.

✔ Report testing progress, test coverage, outstanding defects, and release risks to the client team through written updates and team meetings.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

✔ At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software testing or Quality Assurance (QA).

✔ Strong manual testing skills, including test case design, exploratory testing, and regression testing.

✔ Practical experience with at least one UI automation framework, such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

✔ Experience in API testing using Postman or a similar tool.

✔ Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira and experience working with Agile or Scrum teams.

✔ Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate directly with an overseas team.

✔ A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

✔ Stable internet connectivity of at least 10 Mbps and access to a quiet, private workspace.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

✔ ISTQB Foundation Level certification.

✔ Test automation scripting experience using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.

✔ Experience running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

✔ Basic SQL knowledge for validating and verifying test data.

✔ Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.

✔ Experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS.
