Senior System Engineer

Who Are We Looking For?

HawarIT is looking for a hands-on and experienced Senior System Engineer to manage, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, virtualization, cloud/VPS platforms, backup and disaster recovery, monitoring, and end-user support.

The role requires strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis (RCA) skills, disciplined technical documentation, independent problem-solving ability, and effective English communication with colleagues and stakeholders in both Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Practical knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and a long-term commitment to the role are expected.

Educational Requirements

✔ BSc in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or a related field from a reputed university.

Certifications

Candidates with relevant professional experience and certifications in the following areas will be preferred:

✔ MCSA / MCSE
✔ RHCSA / RHCE

✔ CCNA
✔ Next-Generation Firewall
✔ ISO 27001:2022

Experience Requirements

✔ 5–6 years of relevant professional experience

✔ Windows Server 2016–2025: Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, Hyper-V, PowerShell, server security, networking, backup, and recovery.

✔ Linux Administration: RHEL, user and permission management, networking, storage, services, SELinux, firewall, Bash, automation, troubleshooting, and system security.

✔ MikroTik & Cisco: Routing and switching, LAN, WAN, VLAN, TCP/IP, MikroTik RouterOS, firewall, NAT, VPN, DHCP/DNS, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.

✔ Next-Generation Firewall: Advanced firewall management, IPS/IDS, application control, web filtering, VPN, NAT, firewall policies, threat prevention, and security monitoring.

✔ ISO 27001:2022: ISMS, risk management, information security controls, security policies, compliance, auditing, incident management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Configure ICT facilities and provide Tier II/III helpdesk support, including hardware, software, licensing, and end-user support. Perform effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis (RCA) for system incidents.

✔ Install, maintain, and troubleshoot ICT equipment and systems, including attendance/access-control systems, NVRs, GoodWe Inverter/ESS, Synology NAS, PiKVM, and other related devices.

✔ Administer software licenses and business applications, including Autodesk, Stabicad, Esri, MicroStation, Zoom, and other required software.

✔ Manage procurement activities, coordinate with vendors and service providers, handle equipment repairs and service-center activities, and maintain related documentation.

✔ Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure involving FortiGate, Zyxel, MikroTik, Cisco, Grandstream, ASUS, TP-Link, and other networking equipment.

✔ Maintain network diagrams, ISP connectivity, and network infrastructure documentation.

✔ Manage hosting, domains, SSL certificates, and multi-server environments.

✔ Administer Windows Server 2016–2025, including Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, SFTP, Hyper-V, PowerShell, security, networking, backup, and recovery.

✔ Administer Linux/Ubuntu VM hosts and services, including SVN, Postfix Mail, Nextcloud, and GeoServer.

✔ Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash.

✔ Manage VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.

✔ Manage cloud platforms, including VPS environments.

✔ Administer Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, including email and user management.

✔ Manage project data and databases such as MSSQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL, including application backup and restoration plans, monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery.

✔ Manage client data transfers, ITSM activities, support emails, and technical records.

✔ Monitor ICT infrastructure using Zabbix and maintain DokuWiki and other technical documentation.

Operational Responsibilities

✔ Communicate effectively with Dutch colleagues, users, and stakeholders regarding technical issues, support activities, and infrastructure requirements.

✔ Manage tasks, priorities, and progress using Trello and actively participate in IT infrastructure meetings.

✔ Provide front-office and back-office technical support, incident resolution, and service request handling.

✔ Maintain IT security, promote user awareness, and support ISO 27001:2022 compliance.

✔ Install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot ICT systems, devices, and infrastructure.

✔ Maintain accurate IT asset and infrastructure documentation and proactively identify and resolve operational issues.
