Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:
The Senior Merchandiser/Merchandiser (Woven) is responsible for handling buyer accounts (such as ZARA/INDITEX), managing order execution, and ensuring effective coordination between buyers and production teams. This role requires strong expertise in product knowledge, sourcing, costing, and maintaining timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Buyer Management & Communication

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with buyers regarding product development and order updates
  • Understand buyer requirements, specifications, and quality expectations
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and order volumes

2. Product Development

  • Develop samples based on buyer requirements
  • Coordinate with design, sampling, and production teams
  • Source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories for woven garments

3. Costing & Pricing

  • Prepare detailed and accurate costing sheets (including fabric, trims, CM, washing, etc.)
  • Analyze material consumption and optimize costs
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing

4. Order Execution & Follow-up

  • Manage orders from confirmation through shipment
  • Develop and monitor Time & Action (T&A) plans
  • Track production progress to ensure on-time delivery

5. Production Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with production, QA, and planning teams
  • Ensure timely availability of all materials
  • Address and resolve production issues or delays

6. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure products meet buyer quality standards
  • Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams
  • Follow up on approvals such as PP samples, size sets, and TOP samples

7. Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain a reliable supplier network for fabrics and trims
  • Assess vendor performance in terms of price, quality, and lead time
  • Ensure compliance with both company and buyer requirements

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain all merchandising documents (PI, LC, invoices, packing lists, etc.)
  • Provide regular updates to management on order status
  • Ensure adherence to export procedures and compliance standards
