Residential Medical Officer-RMO

• Specialized training in Fetal Anomaly Scan, Thyroid Ultrasound, Breast Ultrasound, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound will be considered an added advantage.

• FCPS Part-I, MD, MS, or equivalent postgraduate training will be an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge and practical expertise in:

Emergency & Patient Care

• Conduct initial assessment, diagnosis, and stabilization of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

• Provide prompt emergency treatment and basic life-saving interventions for critically ill patients.

• Decide on patient admission, observation, or referral based on clinical assessment and consultant recommendations.

• Manage medical emergencies in accordance with national treatment guidelines and hospital protocols.

OPD & Inpatient Services

• Provide medical consultations to OPD patients and recommend appropriate treatment and follow-up.

• Conduct regular ward rounds and monitor admitted patients in coordination with consultants.

• Prepare and maintain admission notes, progress notes, referral documents, and discharge summaries.

• Ensure continuity and quality of patient care throughout duty hours.

Diagnostic Ultrasonography

• Independently perform routine and emergency ultrasonography examinations.

• Conduct ultrasound examinations covering abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, breast, thyroid, scrotal, soft tissue, musculoskeletal, vascular, and other small-part studies.

• Perform Colour Doppler examinations when clinically indicated.

• Ensure proper image acquisition, documentation, and overall quality of ultrasound examinations.

Obstetric & Gynecological Imaging

• Perform ultrasound examinations during the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy.

• Evaluate fetal growth, biometry, well-being, placental location, amniotic fluid volume, and fetal presentation.

• Identify congenital abnormalities and findings associated with high-risk pregnancies.

• Perform transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations when appropriate.

Reporting & Clinical Support

• Interpret ultrasound findings and prepare clear, accurate diagnostic reports.

• Promptly communicate critical or urgent findings to the relevant treating consultant.

• Recommend and review appropriate laboratory and imaging investigations to support patient management.

• Prescribe medications in accordance with consultant guidance and applicable clinical protocols.

Clinical Procedures

• Perform routine bedside procedures, including wound care, suturing, catheterization, nasogastric tube insertion, oxygen administration, and basic airway management.

• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) during medical emergencies.

Patient Communication

• Explain diagnoses, ultrasound findings, treatment plans, and prognosis to patients and attendants in a clear and compassionate manner.

• Maintain patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and uphold professional medical ethics.

• Ensure patient comfort and safety during consultations and ultrasound procedures.

Coordination & Teamwork

• Work closely with consultants, nurses, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, radiology teams, and hospital administration.

• Participate in clinical meetings, mortality reviews, medical audits, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.

Infection Control & Quality Assurance

• Strictly follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards during clinical and ultrasound procedures.

• Ensure the safe operation, proper handling, and routine maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

• Maintain complete and accurate medical records, ultrasound reports, and other required hospital documentation.
