Responsibilities & Context
- Production Planning & Execution:
- Execute the production plan in collaboration with the Planning and Merchandising departments.
- Ensure timely input and output of garments in alignment with the shipment schedule.
- Allocate manpower and resources efficiently to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Floor Management:
- Oversee line setup, work-in-progress (WIP) control, line balancing, and output tracking.
- Ensure optimal line layout, use of work aids, and provide technical support to improve operator efficiency.
- Monitor hourly and daily production, and take corrective actions to address any bottlenecks.
- Productivity & Efficiency Improvement:
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and other industrial engineering tools to enhance productivity and minimize waste.
- Analyze downtime and rejection rates, and implement corrective measures for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Industrial Engineering (IE) department to review efficiency reports and improve line performance.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and implement preventive measures to reduce defects.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to maintain product quality at each stage of the sewing process.
- Provide training and ongoing supervision to enhance operator skills and product quality.
- People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate supervisors, line chiefs, and sewing operators.
- Conduct regular team meetings and offer constructive performance feedback.
- Promote discipline, safety, and compliance within the sewing section.
- Reporting & Coordination:
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production and efficiency reports.
- Coordinate with the cutting, finishing, IE, QA, and maintenance departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Provide real-time updates to management on production status, challenges, and delays.
