Education


  • Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Science (BSc), in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Science (BSc), in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Bachelor/Honors, in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Experience


  • 6 Year

Additional Requirements

  • Age: 35 to 40 years.

  • 6 to 7 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of SMF/VRLA battery manufacturing standards.

  • Strong understanding of welding processes, including COS, Heat Seal, and Ultrasonic methods.

  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled assembly machines.

  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing tools, Root Cause Analysis, and PFMEA.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Analytical problem-solving and sound decision-making ability.

  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities & Context

A. Production Management

  • Plan, organize, and manage daily assembly-line activities to meet production targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Monitor WIP (Work-In-Process) and ensure smooth workflow across pasting, formation, assembly, and finishing sections.

  • Ensure proper assembly of plates, separators, intercell connectors, terminal welding, and charging processes according to SMF technology standards.

  • Coordinate with Planning & SCM teams to ensure timely availability of materials, including plates, separators, electrolyte, terminals, cases, lids, and adhesives.

B. Quality Assurance

  • Implement and enforce QC standards for SMF battery assembly.

  • Conduct in-process quality checks, including dimensions, torque, welding quality, sealing, voltage, and leak tests.

  • Collaborate with the QA team to minimize defects, rework, and warranty returns.

C. People & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and train assembly-line supervisors, operators, and technicians.

  • Prepare duty rosters, allocate manpower, and monitor operator skill levels.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend skill-development programs.

D. Process & Equipment Management

  • Ensure all assembly machinery, including welding machines, lid-sealing equipment, vacuum leak testers, and torque tools, are maintained in optimal condition.

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

  • Implement lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, Kaizen, line balancing, and waste reduction.

E. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, and electrical safety.

  • Monitor environmental compliance related to battery manufacturing, including lead handling, emissions, and waste management.

  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO, EMS, and other regulatory standards.

F. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and downtime analyses.

  • Maintain documentation for SOPs, work instructions, process parameters, and training logs.

  • Support internal, external, and client audits as required.
