Responsibilities & Context
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable network connectivity, optimize performance, and maintain network security while providing timely technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network security devices.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and bandwidth utilization to ensure maximum uptime and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, and performance issues, escalating complex problems when required.
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and internet connectivity across the organization.
- Configure and manage user network access, VPN connections, IP addressing, VLANs, and network security policies.
- Perform routine network maintenance, firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and preventive health checks.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, technical documentation, configuration records, and IT asset inventories.
- Monitor network logs, identify potential security threats, and ensure compliance with organizational IT security policies.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, internet service providers, and external vendors to resolve network-related issues efficiently.
- Assist in implementing network expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Prepare regular network performance reports and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and security.
- Ensure compliance with company IT standards, operational procedures, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve infrastructure performance.
- Perform any other networking and IT-related responsibilities assigned by management.
