Civil Engineer

 

 

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering or site management.

• Proven ability to supervise on-site civil works and manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved designs and quality standards.

• Practical experience in preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ), bar bending schedules, and comprehensive project plans.

• Strong background in site operations, logistics, tool and material inventory management, and QA/QC testing documentation.

• Experience coordinating with suppliers and supporting procurement activities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve site-related issues and handle crisis situations.

Additional Requirements

• Must hold a valid passport for international travel, with validity extending at least until 2029.

• Must be proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing civil designs and updating as-built drawings.

• Thorough knowledge of civil construction standards, material specifications, and testing procedures.

• PMP certification or relevant health and safety certifications will be considered an added advantage.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Review and understand project contractual obligations and technical requirements outlined in the bid documents.

• Coordinate documentation review and approval in accordance with the consultant’s design basis.

• Prepare work-scope recommendations and the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for the Design Team Leader.

• Maintain regular communication and coordination with project consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review and provide recommendations on contractors’ as-built drawings and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manual submissions.

• Coordinate with design teams to ensure accurate civil engineering designs and timely submission of required documents.

• Work closely with suppliers to verify the specifications of civil equipment and construction materials.

• Plan civil engineering activities in detail, support work scheduling, and prepare comprehensive civil BoQs.

• Ensure civil designs are properly implemented at the project site and that as-built drawings are updated continuously.

• Supervise subcontractors and oversee overall construction activities at the site.

• Collect, maintain, and manage all civil works testing reports and related documentation.

• Support project management, crisis response, and site logistics operations.

• Oversee site operations, including inventory management of tools, equipment, and construction materials.

• Coordinate procurement activities to ensure the timely availability of required materials and resources.

• Provide daily progress updates and work status reports to the Project Manager.

Job Terms

- Initially a 3-year contractual appointment, with the possibility of a long-term position based on the terms of the appointment.
