  • Administrative: General Manager – Cityscape Lifestyle

Employment Type: Full-Time | Leadership Role
Working Hours: As per bar operational hours with managerial flexibility

1. Role Definition & Strategic Purpose

The Bar Manager serves as the primary guardian of The Cave brand at the operational level. This role is responsible for preserving, enhancing, and commercializing the bar as a members-first, experience-driven, revenue-generating lifestyle asset.

Key areas of accountability include:

  • Brand integrity and positioning

  • Guest quality and conduct control

  • Enforcement of membership culture

  • Revenue performance, cost discipline, and profitability

This is not a nightlife or entertainment role.
It is a luxury hospitality leadership position within a curated, long-term lifestyle ecosystem.

3. Core Responsibilities

A. Operational Control & Daily Management

Daily Operations

  • Open and close the bar in accordance with approved SOPs

  • Ensure complete operational readiness before service, including:

    • Staff grooming and uniforms

    • Bar setup, hygiene, and cleanliness

    • Stock availability

  • Supervise service flow throughout operating hours

  • Coordinate seamlessly with floor service, GRO, and security teams

SOP Compliance

  • Enforce all approved SOPs covering:

    • Beverage preparation standards

    • Service etiquette and guest communication

    • Table turnover protocols

    • Closing and reconciliation procedures


B. Membership-First Guest Management

Entry & Guest Control

  • Ensure priority access for:

    • Cityscape members

    • Corporate guests

    • Invite-only patrons

  • Coordinate with security to:

    • Enforce entry cut-off times

    • Restrict late-night casual crowds

    • Prevent non-spending footfall

Guest Experience Oversight

  • Personally manage high-value guests, including:

    • VIPs

    • Corporate decision-makers

    • International guests

  • Ensure:

    • Calm seating arrangements

    • Controlled occupancy

    • Noise-free environment

Membership Conversion Support

  • Identify potential members discreetly

  • Coordinate with Sales and GRO teams

  • Train staff on:

    • Soft introduction of membership benefits

    • Avoiding aggressive or pushy sales behavior


C. Revenue Generation & Profitability

Sales & Growth Strategy

  • Achieve and exceed monthly revenue targets

  • Promote:

    • Premium spirits

    • Signature cocktails

    • High-margin beverage pairings

  • Develop curated menus aligned with brand positioning

Cost & Margin Control

  • Maintain strict control over:

    • Beverage cost percentages

    • Over-pouring

    • Breakage and wastage

  • Ensure daily stock issuance and reconciliation

  • Enforce zero tolerance for pilferage or leakage

Financial Reporting

  • Submit:

    • Daily sales summaries

    • Weekly performance reports

    • Monthly revenue and cost analyses

  • Support management in P&L preparation


D. Inventory, Procurement & Asset Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records

  • Forecast stock requirements responsibly

  • Coordinate procurement with prior management approval

  • Ensure:

    • Proper storage and FIFO compliance

    • Licensing and regulatory adherence

  • Safeguard all bar assets as company property


E. Team Leadership, Discipline & Training

  • Lead and manage:

    • Bartenders

    • Barbacks

    • Servers

  • Enforce discipline, professionalism, and service standards

  • Conduct ongoing training and performance monitoring


F. Security, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Strictly enforce alcohol service laws

  • Coordinate with security for:

    • Entry control

    • Crowd discipline

    • Incident prevention

  • Handle guest complaints:

    • Calmly

    • Privately

    • Professionally

  • Ensure zero reputational or compliance incidents


G. Experience Curation (Controlled & Approved)

  • Propose management-approved initiatives such as:

    • Executive tasting sessions

    • Corporate networking evenings

    • Members-only signature experiences

  • No DJ nights or loud events without written approval

  • Focus on:

    • Ambience

    • Conversation

4. Authority & Decision Rights

Authorized To:

  • Control guest entry flow in coordination with security

  • Remove disruptive guests

  • Suspend service if standards are compromised

  • Discipline staff in line with HR policies

Not Authorized To:

  • Change pricing without formal approval

  • Host unauthorized events

  • Compromise brand standards for short-term revenue
