    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent command of English in both written and spoken communication

Responsibilities & Context

Role Objective
The Assistant Manager – HSE is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and overseeing all health, safety, and environmental practices within the facility, ensuring full compliance with local regulations, international ISO standards, and buyer audit requirements.

1. Management Systems & Compliance

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001:2015 standards, including documentation, risk assessments, and objectives.
  • Oversee Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) systems in accordance with ISO 45001 to reduce workplace incidents and health risks.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bangladesh Labor Act, Environment Conservation Act, and fire safety standards.

2. Audit Management & Sustainability

  • Prepare for and lead environmental audits such as Higg Index FEM, ZDHC, and Department of Environment (DoE) inspections.
  • Conduct regular internal safety audits and machinery inspections to ensure compliance and operational safety.
  • Act as the focal point for social and ethical audits (e.g., SEDEX/SMETA, BSCI, and buyer-specific audits), with emphasis on health and safety compliance.

3. Operational Safety

  • Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments across all production processes.
  • Oversee chemical management systems and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

4. Training & Culture

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to promote safety awareness and build a strong safety culture among employees.
