Assistant Manager Design & Analysis

Functional Activities

• Ensure design and analysis milestones are completed on time and within the approved budget.

• Conduct site feasibility studies and develop suitable project designs accordingly.

• Review engineers’ work to ensure compliance with design standards and quality requirements.

• Provide expert input on engineering design and structural analysis.

• Oversee project planning, monitoring, clearances, and regulatory compliance.

• Ensure project designs follow standard engineering practices.

• Maintain accurate design calculations, analysis, and technical data for future reference and review.

• Review BOQs and coordinate with Project Engineering for RFQ preparation.

• Evaluate analysis results and recommend cost-effective and quality-focused solutions.

• Lead the resolution and escalation of design and analysis-related issues.

• Conduct analysis for new and non-tender items.

• Support initiatives to improve schedules, reduce costs, enhance quality, and maintain workplace safety.

• Identify potential safety hazards, recommend improvements, and implement preventive measures in line with legal requirements.

Leadership, Talent & Culture Development

• Attract, develop, and retain high-quality talent within the steel business.

• Lead performance management, recruitment, training, and employee development to maintain an engaged and motivated team.

• Coach and mentor team members to prepare them for greater responsibilities and career progression.

• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Address employee counselling and grievances effectively.

• Monitor attendance and leave of team members.

• Allocate workloads appropriately to support productivity and work-life balance.

Coordination

• Work closely with internal teams to collect the data and technical information required for project activities.

• Coordinate with Budgeting, Compliance, and Project Planning teams for vendor evaluation, negotiation, and sourcing costs related to analysis work.
