Assistant Lead Engineer - IT Infrastructure & Security

SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

• Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of VLANs, switching, and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

• Hardware Expertise: Hands-on experience configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls including Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and Fortinet, as well as wireless access points.

• Network Security: Knowledge of ACLs, NAT, IPSec and SSL VPNs, along with established network security practices.

• Cloud Networking: Familiarity with VPC architecture, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity solutions such as Direct Connect and ExpressRoute.

• Automation & Scripting: Ability to work with Python, Bash, or YAML and use Ansible to automate routine network management tasks.

• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve network connectivity, performance, configuration, and hardware-related issues.

• Design, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise-level IT infrastructure across LAN, WAN, VPN, and SD-WAN environments.

• Administer and support various network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, WLCs, access points, WAFs, load balancers, and unified communication systems (UCM).

• Configure, manage, and optimize routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, along with Layer 2 technologies including VLAN, STP, VTP, EtherChannel, HSRP, VRRP, and vPC.

• Implement and troubleshoot secure network connectivity solutions, including IPSec, SSL, GRE VPNs, and remote access services.

• Monitor network availability and performance using tools such as FortiAnalyzer, Cacti, and PRTG to proactively detect and resolve potential issues.

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement reliable, scalable, and resilient network solutions.

• Conduct regular network maintenance activities, including firmware upgrades, security patching, and operating system updates to maintain system performance and security.

• Keep up to date with emerging networking technologies, including SD-WAN, cloud networking, Zero Trust architecture, and network automation.
