Responsibilities & Context
- Plan, organize, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the commercial chicks hatchery.
- Monitor and achieve key hatchery performance indicators, including hatchability %, DIS %, unhatched eggs %, cull chicks %, and rotten eggs %.
- Ensure proper selection and handling of quality hatching eggs for incubation.
- Manage the complete incubation process, including setting, candling, transfer, and hatching, to ensure the production of high-quality chicks.
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, hygiene, and bio-security protocols are maintained throughout hatchery operations.
- Identify fertility and hatchability issues and report findings to management with recommendations for improvement.
- Control production costs while maintaining standard rejection and quality levels.
- Monitor and implement routine hatchery maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Prepare annual and operational hatchery budgets and obtain management approval.
- Ensure adequate staffing of the hatchery and develop team members to achieve organizational goals.
- Prepare, maintain, and preserve all hatchery records, reports, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
