Institute of Applied Health Hospital (IAHS-H)

The Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) was established on 13 May 1989 with an initial batch of 42 students, under the leadership of National Professor Dr. Nurul Islam, a distinguished pioneer in medical education in Bangladesh, South Asia, and beyond. The institute received official recognition from the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) on 12 July 1990, and the following year, the University of Chittagong permitted its students to enroll and appear for the first professional examination in 1991. IAHS functioned as an affiliated institute of Chittagong University until early 1992. With the enactment of the Private University Act 1992, the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) was established, and IAHS became its constituent body under the Faculty of Medicine. Later, in 2017, IAHS came under the affiliation of Chittagong Medical University.
