Grameen Motsho O Pashusampad Foundation (GMPF)

Grameen Motsho O Pashusampad Foundation (GMPF) is a non-profit organization based in Bangladesh, established in February 1994 as a subsidiary of Grameen Bank. Its main mission is poverty alleviation and improving the livelihoods of rural communities, especially landless and poor women. GMPF focuses on fisheries, livestock, agriculture, horticulture, and biogas projects to ensure sustainable income generation. The foundation manages 1,035 government leasehold ponds covering over 2,500 acres and operates 20 fish hatcheries. It also runs community feed mills, homestead gardening, and social forestry programs. GMPF provides microcredit and training programs to empower women and enhance their skills. The organization follows a social business model, prioritizing social development over profit. It collaborates with national and international partners, including the Whole Planet Foundation, to expand its impact.
