About Company

The Directorate of Mass Communication (MCD) is a vital wing of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of Bangladesh. It is responsible for managing government-public communication, promoting development awareness, and building bridges between the government and citizens through a wide range of mass media and grassroots outreach programs.

Established to inform, educate, and motivate the public about national initiatives, policies, and development goals, the MCD operates a nationwide network of 68 field-level offices—including 64 District Information Offices and 4 offices in the hill tracts. These units are tasked with local-level implementation of communication campaigns, community engagement, and real-time feedback collection.

Headquartered in Dhaka, the Directorate uses a variety of communication tools such as public meetings, folk media (like jatras, songs, and street dramas), printed publications, and audiovisual content to reach diverse populations, especially in rural and underserved areas. It plays a crucial role during national emergencies, elections, and public awareness drives on health, education, agriculture, climate change, and other critical issues.

Under the leadership of the Director General, MCD works closely with other government agencies, NGOs, and media houses to ensure coordinated, impactful, and inclusive communication for national development.
