Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology

Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST) is a private university established under the sponsorship of the Bangladesh Army Welfare Trust. It was officially founded on 15 February 2015 at Saidpur Cantonment and was inaugurated on the same day by the Honourable Minister of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh.

The primary objective behind establishing BAUST was to expand access to technical and higher education in remote regions of the country. The university received approval to commence academic operations from both the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) on 17 February 2015.

BAUST began its academic journey with four departments—Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Arts & Sciences (A&S)—under three faculties. As of now, the university has grown to include ten departments under five faculties, covering disciplines such as Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), Civil Engineering (CE), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Business Administration, English, and Accounting & Information Systems (AIS), alongside the original departments.

The university operates in full accordance with the Private University Act 2010 and adheres strictly to the guidelines issued by the Army Welfare Trust, the Ministry of Education, and the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.
