Responsibilities & Context

Context:
The BRAC Skills Development Programme (SDP), initiated in 2015, aims to offer marginalized adolescents and youth aged 14 to 35 alternative educational opportunities through skills training and employment facilitation. The program relies on data-driven methods, emphasizes community involvement, and connects youth with local market demands. It has notably improved income levels and workforce participation, especially among girls and women.

Purpose of the Position:
This role ensures the effective execution of BRAC’s Skills Development Programme by selecting eligible participants, overseeing training activities, supporting job placements, and fostering inclusivity. The position acts as a crucial link among learners, trainers, and employers to guarantee high-quality training and employment outcomes while maintaining safeguarding protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys involving learners, Master Crafts Persons (MCPs), Technical Trainers (TTs), and peer leaders, and identify program participants based on set criteria.

  • Organize orientation sessions for MCPs, TTs, and peer leaders, as well as coordination meetings with MCPs, TTs, parents, and bazaar committees.

  • Monitor technical and soft skills training, track learners’ progress, and oversee workplace conditions.

  • Identify and address challenges faced by learners with appropriate solutions.

  • Facilitate job placements for learners and develop connections with potential employers.

  • Prepare financial documents such as bill vouchers and budgets, and maintain necessary records.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and protection of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, thereby supporting the program’s safeguarding objectives. Serve as a primary resource for guidance and expertise on safeguarding to maintain a secure work environment.

  • Promote, practice, and uphold safeguarding policies among team members, ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards in all activities.

  • Adhere to safeguarding reporting procedures when any incidents occur and encourage others to report as well.
