Responsibilities & Context

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong proficiency in Spring Boot, SQL, Groovy, and AWS to join our high-performing development team. This role involves developing and maintaining robust backend systems and cloud-native applications that are secure, scalable, and efficient. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with a passion for clean, efficient code and delivering reliable solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java-based microservices using the Spring Boot framework.

  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries, database schemas, and stored procedures across relational databases.

  • Utilize Groovy for scripting, automation, and system integration tasks.

  • Deploy, manage, and enhance applications within the AWS ecosystem (e.g., EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3).

  • Integrate applications with internal and external RESTful APIs.

  • Ensure that backend services meet high standards of performance, security, scalability, and availability.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and code reviews.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, focusing on root cause analysis and long-term fixes.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to deliver quality software.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.

  • Advanced SQL expertise, preferably in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.

  • Hands-on experience with Groovy scripting; familiarity with Grails is an advantage.

  • Solid working knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API development, JSON, and asynchronous communication.

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and secure coding practices.

Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Quick learner with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail capabilities.
