Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planning, budgeting, and coordination of field-level activities to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of project interventions.

  • Gather, analyze, and document field data, success stories, and lessons learned to facilitate evidence-based decisions and knowledge sharing.

  • Identify operational challenges, risks, and emerging issues in the field, proposing practical solutions or escalating them to supervisors when necessary.

  • Promote gender equality and social inclusion across all climate-smart agriculture initiatives.

  • Collaborate with research institutions, extension services, and private sector partners to foster innovation and facilitate technology transfer.

  • Monitor demonstration plots and farmer groups to track progress, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure all project activities align with established standards, organizational policies, and environmental safeguards.

  • Contribute to the preparation of periodic progress reports, presentations, and documentation for both internal and external audiences.

Knowledge:

  • Strong grasp of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) concepts, sustainable farming systems, and resilience-building practices.

  • Deep understanding of agronomy, crop management, and soil and water conservation techniques.

  • Familiarity with the effects of climate change on agriculture and practical adaptation methods for smallholder farmers.

  • Awareness of agricultural value chains, market linkages, and farm-level economics.

  • Basic knowledge of data collection methods, monitoring tools, and reporting systems used in development projects.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical and facilitation skills for engaging with farmers and community groups.

  • Strong training and capacity-building abilities using participatory learning methods.

  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and report writing.

  • Effective communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Skilled in using digital tools for agricultural monitoring, training, and reporting (e.g., mobile-based surveys, GIS tools).

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities to manage multiple field activities effectively.

Experience Requirement:

Job Purpose:

To deliver technical guidance and ensure effective field-level implementation of climate-smart agriculture projects aimed at improving productivity and resilience. The role involves promoting, demonstrating, and scaling up climate-resilient farming methods, enabling farmers to adopt sustainable practices that enhance livelihoods and food security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for standing crops through regular field visits, supervision, and monitoring of ongoing activities.

  • Organize and facilitate training, orientations, and refresher sessions to strengthen participants’ technical capacity.

  • Promote and disseminate climate-resilient agricultural technologies among farmers.

  • Identify eligible programme participants and prepare relevant reports such as crop-cutting and cost–benefit analyses.

  • Lead awareness and capacity-building initiatives on climate-smart farming practices.

  • Manage the distribution of agricultural inputs and materials for adaptive farming activities.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with farmers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and results.

  • Develop partnerships and networks with local stakeholders to expand programme reach and ensure sustainability.

  • Support monitoring, reporting, and overall management of field-level activities.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the protection of programme participants, community members, and staff from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation—including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA)—in line with BRAC’s safeguarding goals.

  • Promote and uphold BRAC’s safeguarding policies and standards in all operations and team activities.

  • Report and encourage the reporting of any safeguarding concerns according to established procedures.
