Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, budgeting, and coordination of field-level initiatives to ensure timely, effective, and high-quality project implementation.

  • Gather, analyze, and document field data, lessons learned, and success stories to promote evidence-based decisions and knowledge sharing.

  • Identify operational challenges, risks, and emerging issues in the field and propose practical solutions or escalate them to supervisors for prompt action.

  • Ensure gender and social inclusion are effectively integrated into all climate-smart agriculture interventions.

  • Collaborate with research organizations, agricultural extension services, and private sector partners to foster innovation and facilitate technology dissemination.

  • Track the progress of demonstration plots and farmer groups, evaluating outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure adherence to project guidelines, organizational policies, and environmental and social safeguard standards.

  • Contribute to progress reports, presentations, and documentation for both internal and external audiences.


Knowledge:

  • Strong grasp of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) principles, sustainable farming systems, and resilience-building methodologies.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of agronomic practices, crop production, and soil and water management.

  • Understanding of the effects of climate change on agriculture and adaptation approaches suitable for smallholder farmers.

  • Awareness of agricultural value chains, market systems, and farm-level economics.

  • Basic knowledge of data collection methods, monitoring frameworks, and reporting formats used in development projects.


Skills:

  • Excellent technical advisory and facilitation abilities for engaging directly with farmers and community-based organizations.

  • Strong capacity-building and training skills using participatory learning methods.

  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Familiarity with digital tools for agricultural monitoring, training, and reporting (e.g., mobile-based survey tools, GIS applications).

  • Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple field tasks efficiently.

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the development sector, particularly in agriculture, livelihoods, or climate change. Previous involvement in climate change adaptation and agricultural projects will be considered a significant advantage.

Job Purpose:

To provide technical guidance and ensure effective field-level implementation of climate-smart agriculture initiatives, enhancing productivity and resilience. The role emphasizes promoting and scaling up climate-resilient technologies, empowering farmers to adopt sustainable practices that strengthen livelihoods and food security.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical support for crop management through regular field supervision and monitoring.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to build participants’ technical capacity.

  • Promote and facilitate the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural technologies at the farmer level.

  • Identify programme participants according to set criteria and prepare crop-cutting, cost–benefit, and related project reports.

  • Lead awareness and capacity-building activities to promote sustainable, climate-smart farming.

  • Oversee distribution of agricultural inputs and materials for climate-adaptive farming.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with farmers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and desired outcomes.

  • Develop networks and partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance programme impact and sustainability.

  • Support implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all field-level activities.


Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and protection of all programme participants, visitors, and staff from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, or exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).

  • Promote and practice BRAC’s safeguarding policies across all programme activities.

  • Act as a source of guidance and support to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Follow safeguarding procedures for reporting incidents and encourage others to do the same.
