Responsibilities & Context

Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO), founded in 1988, is a leading NGO in Bangladesh working to improve the lives of poor and marginalized communities. Over the past 35+ years, ESDO has built a strong track record in livelihood development, food security and nutrition, women’s empowerment, education, health, child rights, and community resilience. Operating in 408 upazilas across 53 districts, ESDO serves more than 15 million people through a participatory, people-centered approach aligned with national priorities and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of its partnership with Syngenta Foundation, ESDO is implementing the Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE) project in Rangpur District. Applications are invited for the following position:
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field-level implementation of public health, nutrition, and agriculture value chain activities.

  • Coordinate with multi-sector stakeholders and nutrition platforms at the local level.

  • Establish linkages between Farmers’ Hubs and city/municipality markets to build a strong and sustainable supply chain.

  • Support farmers in accessing markets and agri-credit services.

  • Ensure timely and quality execution of project interventions, aligned with technical standards.

  • Must be stationed in the working area, with frequent rural field visits (valid motorcycle license required).

Preferred Expertise
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in multi-sectoral coordination, particularly in nutrition.
  • Women & Youth Engagement: Skills in mobilizing women and youth within food systems.
  • Agripreneur Development: Ability to support sustainable agriculture entrepreneurship.
  • Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC): Proficiency in designing strategies for nutrition and health-related behavior change.
