Responsibilities & Context

Accounts-Related Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed budget variance reports across various segments, including deposit, investment, and profit variances.

  • Develop and present MIS reports to evaluate the Bank’s overall financial condition.

  • Prepare and maintain periodic Financial Performance Reports for quarterly, half-yearly, and annual business conferences.

  • Complete Bank Reconciliation Statements within the specified timeframe.

  • Ensure reconciliation of key general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial performance memos as well as quarterly financial statements.

  • Process accurate payment and receipt vouchers, ensuring a standardized and efficient centralized payment system.

  • Manage the preparation, verification, and settlement of all end-of-service benefits.

  • Provide support to Credit Rating Agencies during the Bank’s credit rating evaluation.

  • Assist and coordinate with both internal and external auditors to facilitate timely completion of audits.

  • Prepare CAMELS-related documentation, submit them to Bangladesh Bank, and ensure compliance with CAMELS reporting requirements.

Tax & VAT-Related Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and manage the Bank’s annual Corporate Tax and VAT strategies.

  • Oversee Tax and VAT compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines and laws, and conduct proactive planning to ensure proper tax liability management and reporting to senior management.

  • Monitor and address all legal and regulatory matters related to finance, tax, and VAT.

  • Ensure proper deduction and timely deposit of AIT, source tax, and VAT to the government treasury in line with prevailing regulations.

  • Maintain up-to-date procedures for Tax and VAT returns and assessments.
