Responsibilities & Context

  • Oversee the internal social compliance system to ensure Gildan’s Bangladesh operations adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Conduct regular on-site and off-site audits of contractors to assess compliance status.
  • Coordinate with clients on social compliance requirements and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance during the onboarding of new contractors regarding compliance expectations.
  • Keep internal teams and suppliers informed of industry updates and labor-related trends.
  • Deliver training and coaching sessions to contractors on compliance standards and available resources.
  • Assist the environmental team with Higg FEM and other environmental compliance initiatives, as needed.
  • Ensure alignment with global frameworks such as FLA, WRAP, SMETA, SLCP, Better Work, and CTPAT.
  • Liaise with clients and private brands to meet their social compliance requirements, including organizing and following up on external audits.
  • Benchmark labor practices and recommend updates or improvements within Gildan’s facilities and supply chain.
  • Prepare facilities for social compliance audits, covering areas like HR, finance, occupational health and safety, and security (e.g., CTPAT).
  • Support and deliver annual training programs related to human rights and the Code of Conduct.
  • Monitor and report on human capital initiatives, such as employee empowerment programs and digital grievance systems.
