Knowledge of international compliance standards, including REACH regulations, LWG (Leather Working Group) certifications, and export requirements.
Position Overview:
The Head of R&D and Business Development will play a pivotal role in spearheading product innovation, advancing eco-conscious leather technologies, and expanding Pegasus Leathers' footprint in global markets. This leadership position demands a combination of deep technical knowledge in leather production and strong business insight to drive strategic growth and innovation.
Oversee research and development activities focused on leather processing, tanning techniques, product innovation, and quality enhancement.
Create innovative leather finishes, sustainable material alternatives, and tailor-made solutions to meet client demands.
Partner with manufacturing teams to implement efficient, scalable, and environmentally friendly production methods.
Monitor international developments in leather trends, sustainability protocols, and material innovation.
Explore and pursue new market opportunities across local and international sectors, with a focus on fashion, automotive, upholstery, and footwear industries.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with designers, brands, OEMs, and business clients.
Drive global expansion efforts through partnerships with agents, distributors, and industry associations.
Serve as the company’s representative at global trade shows, exhibitions, and B2B networking events.
Collaborate with marketing to enhance Pegasus’s reputation as a forward-thinking leather innovator.
Develop and implement R&D and business development strategies that support overall corporate goals.
Conduct detailed feasibility studies, financial assessments, and prepare business proposals for new initiatives.
Report on R&D outcomes, market intelligence, and sales projections to senior leadership.
Lead cross-departmental teams involved in innovation, sales, and production.
