Plan, monitor, and enhance production and maintenance processes in line with company objectives.
Ensure tea quality parameters such as density, moisture, liquor characteristics, appearance, infusion, and cup taste (including bitter, raw, and smoky notes) meet standards across different flavors.
Oversee machine operations and maintenance, including breakdowns, preventive schedules, and overhauls for equipment like tea bag machines, pouch packers, blending drums, generators, etc.
Coordinate with line managers, tea estate personnel, brokers, tea gardens, and packing units to assess and ensure tea quality.
Work closely with operations, finance, branding, and sales teams on budgeting, pricing, and cost control for products.
Address and resolve any market complaints regarding tea quality effectively and promptly.
Optimize the use of workforce, machinery, materials, and resources to meet production targets efficiently.
Identify R&D opportunities to overcome future challenges and support continuous product innovation while maintaining brand and cost leadership.
Develop and implement systems to monitor and improve productivity, set performance metrics, and maximize asset utilization.
Lead new tea product development projects, ensuring teams remain on schedule and meet project goals.
Initiate cost-saving measures without compromising product quality.
Create and standardize product recipes to ensure consistent, high-quality production output.
Supervise inventory of raw materials, packaging items, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Maintain the quality standards of packaging materials and final products.
Prepare and control the annual production budget.
Manage internal and external audits, including LACON (USDA, EC), Rainforest Alliance, and JAS (OneCert) compliance.
Ensure efficient import processes, procurement, and logistics coordination aligned with production needs.
Liaise with suppliers and CNF agents to ensure smooth shipment clearance and delivery.
Oversee installation and commissioning of new machinery.
Monitor supplier performance and meet buyer requirements.
Maintain safety records, conduct HSE training, site inspections, and support incident investigations.
Ensure comprehensive documentation, including policies, GMP, GHP, PPE records, machine logs, hygiene protocols, safety documentation (electrical, mechanical, fire), and various production and efficiency reports.
Organize product knowledge training for all staff levels.
Continuously review and improve SOPs and document approval systems.
Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
