Responsibilities & Context

Purpose:
Oversee and manage all legal functions within Rupayan Group, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with organizational goals and legal standards.
Key Objectives:
  • Align legal operations with company strategy and regulatory compliance.

  • Improve legal processes and interdepartmental collaboration.

  • Assist management in planning legal budgets and operational improvements.


Core Responsibilities
  1. Contract & Document Management

  • Draft and review agreements (sales, leases, joint ventures, etc.).

  • Ensure contract compliance with legal and company policies.

  • Maintain a centralized legal document system and monitor deadlines.

  1. Legal Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure adherence to property, construction, zoning, and environmental laws.

  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies for permits and approvals.

  • Stay updated on legal changes and flag risks in business transactions.

  1. Litigation Support

  • Coordinate with external counsel on ongoing cases.

  • Manage case documentation and legal scheduling.

  • Keep internal stakeholders informed on legal proceedings.

  1. Liaison & Coordination

  • Act as a liaison with law firms, government bodies, and regulators.

  • Support interdepartmental legal matters (sales, finance, construction).

  • Facilitate land acquisition, due diligence, and regulatory processes.

  1. Due Diligence

  • Verify ownership and title documents before transactions.

  • Assist with registration, tax clearance, and mortgage formalities.

  • Support field teams in legal and compliance inspections.

  1. Administration & Reporting

  • Track legal expenses and service provider payments.
  • Prepare legal status reports for senior leadership.
  • Document compliance audits, dispute resolutions, and inspections.
