Additional Requirements

  • 3–5 years of proven experience in HR operations, with at least 3 years in the NGO/development sector (mandatory).

  • Solid understanding of Bangladesh labor laws and NGO regulatory frameworks.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and MS Office applications.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

  • Prior experience in managing HR processes within donor-funded projects will be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is highly desirable.


Responsibilities & Context

The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for overseeing core human resource functions at JAAGO Foundation Trust, including recruitment, training, payroll management, HRIS operations, and compliance. This role will also involve coordinating with banks on payroll and staff matters, managing HR systems, and supporting HR activities across projects. The position requires a proactive approach to strengthening organizational efficiency, ensuring compliance with labor laws and donor regulations, and enhancing the overall employee experience.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.

  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation for new hires.

  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline to meet future staffing needs.

Payroll & HRIS Management

  • Administer payroll with accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.

  • Act as the main point of contact with banks for salary processing and employee-related matters.

  • Oversee HR software (e.g., Zoho and others) to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.

Training & Development

  • Contribute to the design and rollout of training and capacity-building programs aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Support employee learning and development initiatives and monitor progress.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Keep employee records, HR policies, and SOPs up to date.

  • Prepare regular HR reports for internal management and donor compliance.

Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, Bangladesh labor laws, and NGO regulations.

Safeguarding

  • Promote and uphold the organization’s safeguarding policies to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

  • Report safeguarding concerns or incidents immediately in accordance with reporting protocols.

  • Maintain professional conduct and boundaries to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for beneficiaries, colleagues, and stakeholders.
